About Yazoo City Housing Authority

In 1952, the Yazoo City Housing Authority (YCHA) was established in accordance with state and federal law. The YCHA operates a wide variety of programs that are designed to provide affordable housing solutions to Yazoo County residents, and to promote community and economic development.
The YCHA is a committed partner in the community’s effort to revitalize neighborhoods and foster economic development, as well as to provide quality, affordable housing. Although affordable housing is its primary mission, the Authority knows that housing cannot function in an environment that is not viable nor can those we serve reach their full potential if our community’s economic condition does not continue to improve.
Programs and services administered by the Housing Authority include low income affordable housing. In addition, the Housing Authority has established partnerships with local agencies and affiliates in order to provide support services to our residents and the Yazoo community at large.
